In Year 10, students have the chance to explore how media is created in different contexts and how it can challenge audience values. They use their production skills to make media projects for specific audiences. The course focuses heavily on production skills, including photography, Photoshop, and podcasting, in addition to the existing audio-visual skills. Students also start learning media analysis by responding to media texts, which is part of the upper school curriculum.
The frequency of this subject is TWO periods per week.

I enjoy Media because it is fun with so much to learn. It keeps me engaged all the time. Media allows you to use your imagination and be as creative as you can possibly be. You are given the opportunity to express your creativity through the variety of assessments that you must complete throughout the year. I guarantee you loads of fun! Stefanie, Year 10 Media student
This subject can lead students onto both the ATAR Media Production and Analysis course, and the General Media Production and Analysis course in Year 11.
