Multidisciplinary Design
In this course students develop their own style as a student designer. They explore a range of design disciplines such as product design, graphic design, fashion accessory design and interior design. They combine approaches to solve design problems and produce products and solutions that meet their brief. Both manual and digital approaches, methods and tools are used including a range of software, thermoforming, sketching and drawing as well as a variety of manual and electric tools. Collaboration, creativity and innovation are fostered in a studio environment. This course is an excellent foundation for possible future studies in Year 11 and 12 ATAR Design or as a springboard for a personal design enterprise.
The frequency of this subject is TWO periods per week.

Design is a good opportunity to experience new techniques and skills that help you develop products. It makes you think of the bigger picture and gives you a greater insight into seeing behind the scenes of production and it’s a lot of fun. If you are thinking of doing Design in Year 11 and 12 or creating products, then doing Year 10 Design will highly benefit you for the future. Grace Chilcott
This course is suitable for students who may wish to study ATAR Design or General Visual Arts. Successful completion of this course can also benefit students wishing to study ATAR Visual Arts.
