Students continue to develop cultural awareness and communication skills involving reading, writing, listening and speaking. The emphasis is on comprehension and production of normal speech on general topics, including travel, emergency assistance, health, simple business transactions, traditions, customs, habits and technology.
Classroom activities are related to the real world and include developing and awareness of acceptable behaviour in Chinese Culture.

- Diary and Letter language functions
- Sickness
- Directions
Semester 2 -Things to do 课余生活
- Technology and Leisure
- Chinese food and festivals
- Chinatown
- Travelling
The frequency of this subject is TWO periods per week.
These courses are a prerequisite for students wishing to continue Chinese in Year 11 and 12.

The biggest highlight in Year 10 was definitely the trip to China! Followed by those interesting Chinese shows, the interactive activities in class and making those delicious dumplings!
