In this course the emphasis is on working as a student artist, expressing and communicating individual ideas through art works and beginning to developing personal artistic style. Students are given the opportunity to explore a variety of art making studio disciplines such as painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and new technologies. Drawing, inquiry and art theory underpins all practical work. Students document their ideas applying understanding of compositional structure to create a unique personal response, while representing either a theme/concept or subject matter. They experience, adapt and manipulate materials, techniques, art styles/processes when producing 2D and/or 3D artwork which communicate artistic intention. Resolved artwork are displayed and appraised, with consideration to personal expression and audience.

Visual Arts teaches you valuable and versatile skills through the various projects you do throughout the year. Students learn to use various mediums to make beautiful art works which they are allowed to take home once finished. Theory work allows a student to further understand the elements and principles of art and design, as well as learning about the history of art movements and famous artists.
